In my role as the Design Lead at Lollypop, I undertook a pivotal initiative – the transformation of Delhivery's existing website into a sleek, responsive corporate platform. Delhivery, a prominent 3rd Party Logistics Service Provider, sought a contemporary facelift that resonated with their forward-looking ethos. This project held heightened significance due to its time-bound nature – we had less than 6 months to unveil the revamped website, perfectly timed with their imminent IPO plans.

Our journey in crafting this responsive corporate website illuminated the potency of seamless collaboration and iterative design. Guided by the UX principles, my dedicated team and I embarked on a comprehensive exploration of Delhivery's brand essence and user expectations. Our relentless efforts revolved around curating a design that echoed both modernity and user-friendliness.

Throughout this journey, we engaged in the various UX phases with meticulous attention. Together, we dissected the existing user experience, envisioned innovative pathways, and sculpted an intuitive user journey that made navigation effortless. Our process involved ideation, iteration, and the unwavering pursuit of design excellence.

The culmination of our endeavors materialized in a visually captivating and responsive corporate website, finely attuned to Delhivery's identity. By fusing design innovation with user-centricity, we seamlessly translated Delhivery's aspirations into a digital reality that harmonized aesthetics with functionality. This triumph not only speaks volumes about our proficiency but also about our commitment to our clients' visions. As Delhivery's website took its final form, we witnessed the convergence of design acumen and strategic foresight, solidifying our standing as architects of impactful design transformations.

Project Outcomes and Achievements

  • Multiple Device Responsiveness:

    Ensured the website is fully responsive across various devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones, providing a consistent and optimized user experience for all visitors.

  • Widget for Tracking and Sending the Package:

    Implemented prominent widget on the landing page above the flod for tracking and sending packages, enhancing user engagement and facilitating easy access to key functionalities.

  • Meaningful Iconography:

    Incorporated meaningful iconography with distinct style resonating with the brand idenetity throughout the website to represent different services, features, and processes, enhancing visual appeal and aiding in easy comprehension for users.

  • Illustrative Methods and Process:

    Used relevant illustrations to explain complex methods and processes related to logistics services, making information more accessible and engaging for visitors.

    Research & Stakeholder Interview

    Commencing the project, we initiated a series of in-depth interviews with Delhivery's stakeholders. These dialogues acted as a gateway to unveiling pivotal insights into their overarching vision, objectives, and the very essence they aspired to convey through the revamped website. This preliminary phase served as the bedrock for cultivating a profound understanding of Delhivery's core values and the gamut of services they championed.

    Crucially, the Delhivery team underscored their desire for expeditious results, aiming to see the website go live in under 6 months. This urgency stemmed from their impending IPO plans, aligning closely with inputs emanating from their marketing cadre. The mandate was clear: the website had to serve as an authentic mirror reflecting the company's values, mission, and services to the public sphere. This vital objective became the North Star guiding our design and implementation efforts.

    The synthesis of stakeholder insights and the rapid IPO-oriented timeline informed our strategy as we embarked on a journey to craft a responsive corporate website that didn't just meet Delhivery's aspirations but translated them into a captivating and impactful online presence.

    Wireframing

    Continuing our trajectory, we delved into pinpointing pain points and meticulously crafting an optimal user journey. By employing potent methodologies like card sorting and affinity mapping, we meticulously engineered a content flow that exuded structural finesse, thereby paving the way for intuitive navigation. This user-centric foundation breathed life into our project, ensuring that the website's design not only resonated with Delhivery's goals but seamlessly aligned with the expectations of its diverse audience.

    With the user experience meticulously mapped out, our expedition seamlessly transitioned to the realm of wireframing. This phase was an intricate dance of creativity and pragmatism, where we harnessed the power of multiple iterations to forge a design that was not merely functional but inspirational. Through each cycle of iteration, our concepts refined, morphing into wireframes that not only mirrored Delhivery's ethos but were inherently attuned to the nuanced demands of its user base.

    This phase, emblematic of meticulous deliberation, was an instrumental step in cementing the foundational structure of the website. The skeletal framework we crafted during this phase served as the blueprint upon which the entire design rested, epitomizing the thoughtful approach that underpinned our journey.

    Moodboarding

    The design phase began with a crucial step: moodboarding. We organized an inclusive workshop involving stakeholders, designers, and team members to shape Delhivery's visual identity. This collaborative approach gathered diverse perspectives and solidified a shared design vision.

    The workshop's outcomes defined a clear design direction for the website. Building on collective insights, we embarked on iterative design exploration. The landing page took center stage as we carefully crafted and evaluated various design options.

    Ultimately, a distinct design style emerged, carefully curated with iconography, typography, and imagery. Given the content-rich project, a crucial choice was selecting a readable font to suit diverse text. We opted for Archivo—a meticulously chosen font that ensures clarity, readability, and a consistent typographic style across the website. This style perfectly embodied Delhivery's values and brand essence. Our meticulous decisions during this phase laid the foundation for the seamless fusion of aesthetics and functionality that users would experience.

    Visual Design

    The design phase encompassed a multitude of dimensions, each contributing to the evolution of Delhivery's revamped website. Following the foundational moodboarding, our journey embarked on the drafting of the initial landing page. With each step, the magnitude of our tasks expanded, ushering in significant responsibilities.

    Central to this phase was the creation of an expansive icon set, spanning around 100 icons, coupled with 25 bespoke illustrations. These visual elements were meticulously curated to harmonize flawlessly with Delhivery's brand identity and intrinsic values, injecting an authentic visual narrative into the digital canvas.

    Collectively, this comprehensive approach underscored the depth of our design endeavor. It extended beyond surface aesthetics, encapsulating a meticulous crafting of visual components that resonated with Delhivery's essence, while upholding readability and user experience at its core.

    Responsive Design

    Designing Delhivery's responsive corporate website exemplified the potency of collaboration and iterative design. Opting for a Desktop-first strategy, we catered to the predominantly business-oriented audience. Our design journey embraced a multi-device focus, tailoring variations for desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.

    The Desktop-first approach was a deliberate choice, recognizing that the primary users were likely to be business professionals accessing the site from their desktop computers. This decision allowed us to optimize the user experience for this specific audience segment, ensuring that the website's features and content were fully accessible and impactful.

    We meticulously developed distinct design variations for three breakpoints—desktop, tablet, and mobile. This granular approach ensured that users across different devices could seamlessly navigate the website, with an aesthetic and functional continuity that aligned with Delhivery's corporate identity.

    In essence, the journey encapsulated the collaborative spirit of design, weaving together strategic thinking, adaptable design methodologies, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The resultant responsive corporate website stood as a testament to this synergy, encapsulating Delhivery's brand essence while catering to the nuanced needs of its diverse audience.
